In the mid-eighties, the rapidly increasing abuse of psychotropic drugs by young people began to arouse a great deal of public concern in Hong Kong. The major aim of the study is to examine the process by which these abusers became addicted, their background, the responses, perceptions, rehabilitation experience, expectations, and needs of the young abusers. The study discovers that more and more young adolescents are becoming drug addicts, 2 of the respondents were just 11 years old. It is also noted that involvement of young people in delivering and selling drugs is observed. Many other useful findings.
