Communication between Parents and Children


Two surveys were done. One is for the young people, the other is for parents. The result of the young people questionnaires revealed that 45 per cent of the young people would mainly approach peers, such as friends, schoolmates or colleagues for help when they faced with difficulties. They would ask their parentsˇ¦ help with problems relating to health, money and study. Both parents are not very often to tell their children their personal feelings. The biggest difficulty in communicating with their parents are parents are out of date. The results of the parents questionnaire shows that most of the parents considered their relationship with their children are good or very good. They concerns most for their children on academic performance, making friends or future prospect. About 56 per cent of the parents thought there are no problem at all in communicating with their children. Filial piety would be expected from children which means obedience to parents and taking care of parents.
