Young People Views on Saving


This survey reveals that about 42 per cent of the respondents spent most of their money on entertainment and hobbies, e.g. movie, karaoke, concerts, eating and drinking, TV games, comic books, etc. About 55 per cent claimed that they spent within their means, but 22 per cent tended to spend all their money at once even to the point of having an overdraft. Most of the young people yet claimed they were in the habit of saving. When they need money, they would seek financial assistance from family members. About 21 per cent said that they would still spend money by credit card even if unable to clear debts. About 40 per cent respondents intended to buy insurance to safeguard their old age.
