Since the release of Mr. Pattenˇ¦s maiden governerˇ¦s address in October 1992, the political reform proposals embedded in the address have provoked heated debates. This survey investigates the level of concern and emotional responses of young people in view of the political situation. Findings indicate that young people are optimistic about the future development of Hong Kong, but feel helpless in view of the Sino-British row.
