Voluntary services in a society has long been regarded as a valuable activity and experience for young people. This survey shows that young people in Hong Kong have a positive attitude to voluntary service and disagree it was a waste of time. Yet only a quarter of them had actually participated in voluntary service in the past six-months. It is also worth noting that 16 per cent of the respondents who did not do any said that they did not know how to join voluntary service.
