Young People Views on Soft Drugs

This study aims to increase the understanding of how young people view soft drugs and what they know about them. The findings indicated that only two per cent of the respondents had abused soft drugs (e.g. cannabis, cough syrup and "Pills"). Although a majority of the respondents (96%) thought that it was not all right to take this kind of drug, 39% were confident that if they tried soft drugs they could easily stop taking them, which clearly overestimate their power of self-control. The Government should thus strengthen preventive education.
