The survey looks into the problem-solving methods of young people and finds out that respondents are willing to discuss problems with others. With whom to discuss problems, the importance of friends and classmates superseded that of parents. On suicide, most of the respondents thought that the act of committing suicide was foolish (59.8%) or wrong (14.9%). However, a small proportion felt that those who committed suicide deserved sympathy. The Federation recommends that the manning ratio of school social workers to pupils should be improved. A youth hotline should be established to provide professional and easy-to-find services to the young people in need.
