Youthline

Youthline 2777 8899 is a subsidized hotline for young people in Hong Kong since 1993, providing an immediate and convenient channel for youngsters to express their concerns and emotions. At present, Youth line 27778899 offers telephone, as well as face-to-face counseling to those young people aged between 14 and 25, who require further referral or are in need of immediate intervention. The service hour is between 2pm to 2am from Friday to Saturday. To meet the needs of youth, counselling services are also rendered through emails and on websites.

The objectives of the service are:

(1) to provide immediate support to young people in crisis and distress, so that they may tackle their problems in a positive way;

(2) to help young people improve and consolidate their coping abilities in order to assist them in facing challenges at a young age;

(3) to help young people acquire greater maturity by promoting self-awareness and developing their potential;

(4) to promote youth counselling services to the public and encourage them to seek help when in need.

Thematic Hotlines

In order to better address different youth issues, Youthline 2777 8899 has experimented with several thematic hotlines. The new image successfully attracted callers from different sectors to seek advice and received a favourable response from the public.
