Youth Research Centre

Introduction

The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups has been involved in various district and Hong Kong wide youth research projects for the last ten years. A youth research team was established in 1993, which developed three different series of youth studies for the Federation. A Youth Research Centre, the first of its kind in Hong Kong, was put into operation in May 1996 and moved the Federation's youth research into a new era.

Objectives

The aims and objectives of the Youth Research Centre are:

1. To conduct and encourage youth research into all areas of social, political and economic life, on which the values, behaviors, needs and problems encountered by the young people in Hong Kong are then able to be ascertained;

2. To provide the public information on young people through timely and quality youth studies;

3. To maximize and share research resources by cooperation or joint ventures with local or overseas youth research institutions or agencies.
